The Captains' Charity 2012/2013
Our captains’ chosen charity for this year is the STARLIGHT Children’s Foundation.
Starlight grants once-in-a-lifetime wishes for seriously and terminally ill children. Every year Starlight’s entertainment and play programmes also benefit over half a million children every year in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Starlight wishes can cost anything from £100 for a child who wants to meet their favourite celebrity to £500 for a laptop to several thousands for an overseas adventure like swimming with dolphins. The average cost of a wish is £3,325 and every donation, however small or large, brings a sick child’s wish closer to being granted. Starlight receives neither government nor National Lottery funding and is totally reliant on donations from people like us.
Please help the Charity by supporting our Captains: Mark Brown - Club Captain, Christine Britton - Ladies Captain, Frank Rounthwaite - Stags Captain and Ben Charley - Junior Captain and their Captains' Charity Events throughout the year!!!
