MESSAGE FROM YOUR CAPTAINS

Congratulations to Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club celebrating 20 years!!!

 It is now 20 years since the golf club was established and as always offers a warm welcome to you all as another new season begins at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club. As your Captains for 2011/12 season we want offer a warm welcome to all our existing members, friends and especially our new members too! Join us in celebrating 20 years of golf at what is locally known as ‘Warwickshire’s hidden gem’, with lots of enjoyment to be had in the forthcoming golfing calendar year!!! 

Following the scheduled work programme carried out by our green keeping team, the course is already in good condition considering the inclement weather over the winter months and proposes to be in ‘tip top’ condition by the summer months in readiness for both members and visitors alike to enjoy, as well as for the competitions and matches ahead.

Our captains’ chosen charity for this year is the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, which is entirely funded by donations receiving nothing from the Government or Lottery. The UK’s fastest and busiest Air Ambulance in the country; hundreds of lives have been saved to date, with over 9,500 missions being flown since its inception in October 2003. The service operates 7 days a week and in total there is a total of 3 Pilots, 12 Doctors and 12 Paramedics in the team and support from contributions is critical to the continuation of the Air Ambulance.  The WNAA aims to raise over £1.7 million this year to keep the service operating. Throughout this year there are numerous charity events and collections scheduled, both in the golfing and social calendar and we hope that once again our members and friends will be as supportive as in the past and continue to show generosity and kindness to such a worthwhile charitable cause as the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. 

 Your Captains’ - Ron, Kully, Peter and Jack would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very successful and enjoyable golfing season.   We look forward to meeting you and playing a round or two with you throughout the coming year as well as helping you to enjoy your membership and meeting new friends at the club.
