Captain's Day Yellow Ball Competition - Results
The Captain's Day Yellow Ball Competition took place over the weekend of 12th & 13th May, a total of 22 teams who took part and played in the glorious sunshine.
1st place was awarded to the team of Colin Knapp, Ray Stringer, Ade Goodall & Craig Maconnachie with a final score of 86 points.
2nd place was won by Rob Cranston, Denis Secher, Suresh Patel & Paul Quinn with a score of 84 points
3rd place was the team of Ian Crisp, Clive Neale, Paul Manktelow and Carl Scott who scored 81 points who also were the winners of the Yellow Ball competition.
The Yelloow Ball compatition was won by the team of Ian Crisp, Clive Neal, Paul Manktelow and Carl Scott with a score of 35 pints (15/20) narrowly beating on countback of 19/16 the team of Rich Viner, Rob Cranston and Tony O'Dwyer
Result of the Balloon Race in aid of the Junior Section and Air Ambulance
A very big thank you to everyone who kindly took part in the Balloon race and generously donated throughout the year towards the Junior section and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance ( Captains' Charity for 2011/12). The balloons were sold during the year and released at the Captains Putt out in March 2012.
Congratulations to the winner, Bob Jennings whose balloon travelled a grand total of 651 miles. 2nd place was the balloon sponsored by Andy Hewitt which travelled a total of 402 miles and 3rd place with a distance of 178 miles went to Kathryn Knapp.
To the finders of the balloons, thank you for returning the found tickets back to the Golf Club.
Thanks also go to Dave Crossley whose initial idea and organisation of the balloon race made it so successful in raising a total of £579.00 for the Junior section and the WNAA.

Directors Cup - 14th / 15th April - Revised Results
Once again there was a good turnout at the weekend for the Directors Cup - Pairs betterball medal competition, with some very good scores carded on both days.
Congratulations to the Winners - Karl Adams & Paul Darcy wth a score of 62 Nett
Runners-up with a score of Nett 63 was the pairing of Ron Edmondson & Brian Chater. 3rd place was taken by Rich Viner & Rick Pedrick with 64 Nett , 4th place was Ron Edmondson & Kelvin Smith with a nett score of 65 and 5th place was the pairing of Jim Gregg & Steve Woolerton with 66 nett.
Unfortunately the scorecard posted by Colin Clark and John Ellard was wrongly marked and only the nett scores put into columns A& B instead of the gross scores, therfore the card disqualified.

Congratulations to the winning team captained by Ron Edmondson!!!
With a total team score of 855 points, Ron Edmondson's Captain's team beat Mark Brown, Vice Captain's team who scored a total of 831 points.
Prizes for 1st & 2nd place were awarded place to:
1st place - Captain's team - David Wright & Ricahard Marklow with 49 points and 2nd place to Brn Fryer & Joe Gallagher, narrowly pipping Stuart Bryan and Graham Murdoch into 3rd place with a score of 47 points on countback right down to the last hole!!
Vice Caqptain's team - 1st place to Denis Secher & Chris Vogiaridis with a grand score of 50 points and 2nd place awarded to Dave Rutley and Paul Turner with a score of 47 points.

Captains' Drive-in - Saturday 31st March
The Captains of 2012 - Mark Brown, Christine Britton, Frank Rounthwaite and Ben Charley invite you to join them at the Drive-In on Saturday 31st March around 1.30 - 2pm, where they will be donned in 'fancy dress' and introduced in the clubhouse to those present before making their way to the 1st tee to drive-off to commence the start of their year.
There is a grid for all four captains which will only cost £1 per go to guess where the Captains' drive will reach up the first, be it fairway or not!! Please have a go or two...guess where the balls will land, all the money raised goes to the Captains' chosen charity for 2012-2013..... STARLIGHT
If you want to have a go on the grids before Saturday, to get the opportunity of selecting what you think are the better 'spots' where the balls will end up!!! ...the sheets are available in the Pro Shop
Balloon release for Air Ambulance on Saturday 31st March
After the 8.30 am shotgun start for the Captains v Vice Captains Challenge competition on Saturday 31st March, we will be releaing the Balloons which have been sold on behalf of the 2011 Captains' chosen charity - Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
The balloons will be released before the Captains: Ron, Kully, Peter & Jack finally Putt-out to end their year of Captaincy approximately between 1.30 -2.00 pm.
This will be followed by the Captains of 2012 - Mark, Christine, Frank and Ben driving off the 1st tee to commence the start of their year.

Winter League Final Day 2012 - Results
A rocket fired off at 8am started the Winter League Finals Day betterball competition on Sunday 26th February 2012. when a total of 28 pairs took part to vie for the coveted WInter League Trophy.
There were three pairings with the score of 42 points and after a close countback the placings were identified.
Congratulations to the winning pairing of Simon Carter and Stuart Found who took the Trophy and to the Runners- up.

At 8.00am the rocket was launched to announce the shotgun start of the Four Nations round 1 held on Sunday 23rd October. As always it was well supported with some very good scores being carded, results for the accumulation scores were taken from the top 15 cards.
After round 1 the positions for the Nations are:
1st place - Wales (575 pts); 2nd place - Scotland (558 pts); 3rd place - Ireland (543 pts) and 4th place to England (524 pts)

The Inaugural Avon Timber Par 3 Championship final took place on Friday 16th September, with the rocket signalling the commencement of the shotgun competition got underway. Qualifying rounds took place during August in readiness for the final which was well supported. Thank you to the sponsors of the competition Avon Timber.
