Ladies Autumn Open
Stoneleigh hosted the Ladies Autumn Open on Thursday 15th August where a total of 21 teams from clubs near and far enjoyed the superb summer weather.
Moira Johnson from The Warwickshire GC achieved a Hole in One on the 13th hole when she used her rescue club and the ball went straight in!
The winning score submitted on the day was 92 points from the team of Avril McLeod, Jayne Keeshan, Patricia Heath and Wendy Player all from The Warwickshire GC. The team who took second place with 89 points was Elaine Ebbage, Lisa Wells, Annette Catermore and Helena Woodward all from Hinckley GC. Third place prize was won by Kully Wain and Teresa Wright (from Stoneleigh) and guests Belinda Court and Pat Aprile from Stratford Oaks GC with a team score of 87 points.
Longest Drive prize on 10th hole was won by Belinda Court (Stratford Oaks GC). Nearest the Pins on 9th hole was won by Shelagh Neave (Hinckley GC) and on 15th hole by Rosie Hunt (Stratford Oaks GC).
The golf was followed by a one-course meal and the presentation of prizes was made by Linda Edmondson (Lady Captain). The Lady Captain thanked Bernie Ray and Martin Rennolds for starting the ladies off from the 1st tee, Margaret Whitehead for selling the raffle tickets and to those who contributed to the prizes. A big thank you went to Jeanette Jackson for Registration and checking of all score cards and to Ann Jones for taking the photographs. The raffle raised a total of £203.50p for Cancer Research UK the Captains’ Charity for 2013.
