Commiserations to the the Stoneleigh Deer Park Ladies Mail on Sunday team who were knocked out of this year's Classic competition. The match was played at home against Leamington & County Golf Club on Sunday 7th March.  The team captained by Nicky Woodhouse, Helen Dellow, Kully Wain, Sue Langford & Linda Edmondson, resulting in a 4/1 loss.

Good luck from the ladies of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club to the ladies team of Leamington & County Golf Club in their next round of the competition.

Congratulations to Helen Dellow and Kully Wain on their 3 & 2 win against Chipping Norton Golf Club, in the Daily Mail Foursomes 2010 played on Saturday 6th March at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club.

Congratulations to the Stoneleigh ladies team who beat Stratford on Avon ladies 4 matches to 1 on Saurday 30 January (at Stratford on Avon GC) in round 1 of the Mail on Sunday Classic competition

The team, conce again captained by Nicky Woodhouse consisted of Helen Dellow, Isobel Jones, Sue Langford, Kully Wain & Nicky Woodhouse.

A light lunch will be served after the game followed by the presentation and raffle.  If the weather is very bad, alternative arrangements have been made in the Clubhouse to include a Putting and Table Skittles Competition.

The Ladies 3 Ball Halloween Am-Am held on Thursday 29th October was very well supported and played very pleasant weather (considering this time last year ...we had snow!!)  The format played was best two scores to count, stableford.

Well done to the winning team who narrowly beat the runners-up by only 1 point!!!

 A total of 14 Teams took part in the Ladies & Stags Autumn Trophy, a very good turnout indeed. Everyone enjoyed the challenge and the format on the day.

The Ladies Better Ball Stableford Open was held at North Warwicks Golf Club on Monday 21st September.

Kully Wain & Sue Langford, both from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club, playing off 3/4 handicap carded a score of 45 points, and were only just pipped into second place by 1 shot, the winning paring from Stratforfd Oaks Golf Club.  Congratulations to the winners from Startford Oaks Golf Club.

Well done Kully & Sue taking 2nd Place in the North Warwicks Ladies B/Ball Open.

The Ladies Senior Invitation was held at Stonebridge Golf Club on Monday 14th September,  format Better Ball Stableford Pairs.

Kully Wain a member of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club,  was the invited guest of Jan Burton, from Stonebridge Golf Club, the host club.  The pairing finished their round with a tremendous score of 46 points which put them into 1st Place.

The Ladies Inter Club Team Championships were played on Monday 7th September  at the Robin Hood Golf Club. The team respresenting the ladies from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club consisted of Nicky Woodhouse (Team Captain), Helen Dellow, Kully Wain, Isobel Jones and Elaine West.

NIcky stated that scoring was hard on the day for everyone, but the Stoneleigh Deer Park GC ladies were leaders in the clubhouse (narrowly edging out Shirley Golf Club) for the net trophy, right up unitl The Warwickshire who had players in the last two groups, just pipping us at the end.  It was the first time that The Warwickshire had played,  The scoring is worked on the aggregate of the 5 medal scores and Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club ladies only lost by a total of 7 shots.

Congratulations to the ladies from the Warwickshire and commiserations to our ladies team.  Good luck for next year!!!

Nancy Clarke was Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club's first Lady Captain and Lady President.  The Nancy Clarke Cup competition is held annually in her memory.  A total of 25 ladies entered the stableford competition  on Tuesday 8th September in what almost seemed to be a perfect summers day.

Congratulations to the winner, Mary Jane Rypma who carded a score of 35 points, closely followed by Ann Copping with 34 pts taking second place and in third place was Chris Britton with 33 points.

Sally Sparrow a member of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club,  once again travelled up to Scotland to play with her brother, Dai Hutchinson in the Duke of Montrose Trophy.  The event held annually at Montrose Buchanan Castle is a Pairs competion which had 140 pairs taking part on the day. Sally and Dia came 2nd in the Duke of Montrose Trophy with a nett score of 68 points.  However, they retained the Lomond Trophy for the second time, which is presented to the best Member/Guest score carded on the day.  Congratulations to Sally Sparrow and her brother Dai Hutchinson!

A total of 18 Ladies took part in the Lady Captain's Championship Challange Trophy held on Tuesday 1st September.  The trophy was introduced by Sue Langford in her year as Lady Captain in 2005/06.

Congratulations to the winners:   1st Place and the Trophy was presented to Elaine West with a score of 73 Net, narrowly beating Chris Wilkes into 2nd place with a better back nine countback.. 3rd place went to Nicky Woodhouse who carded a Net 74 pipping Maragret Whitehead into 4th place with a better back nine on countback.

LADIES INVITATION - TUESDAY 14TH JULY

The weather stayed fine until the last few holes for the ladies playing in the Ladies Invitational at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club.  The competition format was a fourball betterball stableford, played off full handicap and some good scores were carded today.

Congratulations to the winners: Ann Jones of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club and her guest, Shirly Frost of Staverton Park Golf Club who scored a total of 43 pts tp take the winning prize.  They were closely followed by Lorna Valentine and her guest, Cherry Fleet of Market Harborough Golf Club with a score of 39 pts.

Congratulations to Nicky Woodhouse and Sue Langford, two lady members of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club, who were in the prizes at the recent Ladies Stableford Open held at Coventry Hearsall GC on Wednesday 10th June.

Silver Division Winner was Nicky Woodhouse with a score of 31pts  and in 3rd Place was Sue Langford with a score of 30 pts (Competition played off 7/8 handicap).

Hole in One!!!!

Congratulations to Jean Gallagher!!!

Jean Gallagher achieved a Hole in One on the 9th hole (107yds) on the 18 hole Tantara Course on Sunday 31st May 2009.  Jean, a Past Lady Captain (1996-97 season) has been a member of Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club since 1994.  Well done Jean!!!

It was a lovely day for some mixed golf and 15 teams of two ladies and two men apiece played in the first of the twice yearly competitions combining the two sections. With one lady and one man in each team of four scoring at every hole, it was a fun event with everyone able to play a part in the result. The Lady Captain, Ann Wykes, thanked everyone for participating in a very successful competition, played in beautiful weather. Stags Captain, Tim Lee, thanked the Ladies for organising the day and looked forward to the second match later in the year.

The Winners were: Pat Boneham, Chris Wilkes, Peter Jamieson & John Chard, with a score of 92 points.

Runners Up were:  Joan Collingbourne, Ann Copping, Brian Churchill & Alan Wild, with a score of 90 points.

Once again, congratulations to Nicky Woodhouse and Helen Dellow who secured a win by one hole yesterday in their Daily Mail Foursomes match at home against the ladies from Brailes Golf Club - Gail Jeacock and Lindsay Raison.

Another win for the Ladies team representing Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club in the third round of the Mail on Sunday Classic 2009.  The team skippered by Nicky Woodhouse, consisted of Nicky Woodhouse, Helen Dellow, Isobel Jones, Linda Edmondson and Kully Wain. The Match against Rugby Golf Club at Rugby on Sunday 12th April,  resulted in a 3 / 2 win for Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club.

Ladies from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club played in a friendly match against The Windmill Golf Club on Wednesday 8th April 2009 at home.

The team, skippered on the day by Chris Britton consisted of Chris Britton & Heather Wood, Mary Jane Rypma & Margaret Hancox, Laurine Cann & Chris Wilkes and Sheila Tomalin & Anne Aveyard, the match resulted in a Draw.

Well done Ladies!!

The Ladies Inaugural Dinner was held on Tuesday 7th April 2009.  The evening introduced the new Lady Captain, Ann Wykes for 2009-10 and also marked the commemcement of the new golfing year. 

Our new Lady Captain, Ann Wykes accepted her Captain's blazer and 'pin brooch' from the out-going Lady Captain, Linda Edmondson, followed by her inaugural speech. The Lady Captain then introduced her Vice Captain, Ann Jones and presented her with a  'pin brooch'.

Ann, we wish you every success in your year as Lady Captain for 2009-10.
