Presentation of the Nancy Clarke Trophy will take place as soon as all cards are in and scores have been collated.  We hope you are able to stay!!

The Ladies Championship Challenge Trophy was played for on Tuesday 31st August in glorious sunshine.  The competition format was a one division stroke-play and prizes awarded on the best nett scores.

Congratulations to Nicky Woodhouse whose nett 70 ensured that she took away the trophy. 2nd place was Chris Wilkes with nett 71, 3rd place Helen Dellow with a score of 72 nett and 4th place went to Elaine West with a nett score of 74.

Thank you to all the ladies who took part in the competition and stayed for the presentation.

The date for next year is Thursday 18th August 2011

Winner Two Years Running!!!

The 2010 Ladies Club Championship was played over 36 holes on 24th & 25th July, the course was in very good condition and the weather was perfect on both days. 

The Ladies Gross Champion Winner was Kully Wain (Lady Vice Captain) who carded gross 87 & 84 wilth a total of 171.  Kully said that on the second day she could not 'buy a putt'!!  Nevertheless, she became Club Gross Champion for the 2nd year running just narrowly beating Helen Dellow into second place by 1 shot who scored 89 & 83 (total 172).  Third place wa taken by Nicky Woodhouse with a gross score of 174 (91 & 83).

The Nett Club Champion Winner was Cherry Reay whose score of 142 (39 & 73) took her comfortably ahead of the joint second place scores of 147 nett carded by Sally Sparrow (77 & 70) and Sue Langford (75 & 72). Closely followed by Ann Jones (Lady Captain) & Nicky Woodhouse with 148 nett.

The Trophies were presented on the day to our winners Kully and Cherry by Ann Jones (Lady Captain)

Birstall Golf Club in Leicestershire hosted their Open Ladies AM/AM on Wednesday 21st July, where a team from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club took part and came away triumphant winners. 

Taking 1st Place prize in the competition and a clear lead of 4 points ahead of 2nd place was the team of Kully Wain (Vice Captain), Julie Jennings, Sue Langford and Nicky Woodhouse with a score of 87 points. Congratulations ladies on your successful win!!

The Ladies 3 Ball Allaince Open which was held on Tuesday 15th June at Coventry Golf Club saw the 1st Place being taken by Stoneleigh Deer Park GC.  With a total score of 82 points Helen Dellow, Nicky Woodhouse aand Marion Sullivan (formerly SDPGC now Covntry GC).

Staverton Park Golf Club hosted their Ladies 4 Ball Am Am Open Rumble on Tuesday 22nd June.  What a lovely summers day for the competitiors especially for our team of ladies from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club who managed to take the 2nd Place prize.

Our ladies: Chris Wilkes, Laurine Cann, Sheila Tomalin and Doreen Cole played off 3/4 handicaps and carded a great score of 87 points which was only one point behind the winners from Stratford Oaks Golf Club.

Janet Fisher was also amongst the prize winners by winning the prize for Nearest the Pin on 12th hole.

The Ladies 3 Ball Alliance Open took place at Henley-in-Arden Golf Club on Saturday 12th June. The winning score was a tremendous 82 points which was produced by the team of Kully Wain (Lady Vice Captain of Stonleigh Deer Park GC, Sue Langford of  Stoneleigh Deer Park GC and The Warwickshire and Sue Refern of Henley-in-Arden.

Helen Dellow and Kully Wain managed to pull off an incredible 4 / 3 win against 2 ladies from Fulford Heath Golf Club in the 4th round of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition.  The match was played at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club on Sunday 6th June in what only can be described as monsoon weather, torrential rain !!! 

Well done ladies and Good Luck to you both in the next round of the Daily Mail Foursomes National competition 2010!!!

Thursday 3rd June was the day for the Ladies Invitation at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club.  What a glorious summers day for the competition, the sun shone all day with just a slight breeze!!  Perfect golfing weather and the course in very good condition. The competition was played as a Better Ball Stableford.

The winners, with a tremendous score of 44 points were Jenny Holt from Stoneleigh and her guest Gill Ketley from Coventry Golf Club  . Second place was Ann Jones (Lady Captain) and her guest Pat Kennell with a score of 43 points.

Thank you to all the ladies and their guests for taking part.

A total of 60 players took part in the Ladies & Stags Four Ball better ball competition on Thursday 27th May.

The Winning team of Ann Whitehouse, Mary Foden, Mike Lovie & Malcolm Hancock carded a score of 90 points.  2nd Place was Heather Wood, Joan Collingbourne, Roy Pickering and Peter Jamieson (Stags Vice-Captain) with a score of 88 points, closely beating 3rd place team of Jan Baines, Sheila Tomalin, Robin Whitehouse and John Sidey with a score of 87 points.

Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club ladies, Helen Dellow and Kully Wain have triumphed once again by wiining their 3rd Round match in the Daily Mail Foursomes competition against Ingon Manor Golf Club.  The match was played at Ingon Manor on Saturday 15th May with the winning score of 4 / 2.    Well done ladies!!!  Good Luck in Round 4!!!!

Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club's Inter League Team Captain Nicky Woodhouse teamed up with Lin Harrison and Liz Brown from Kenilworth Golf Club in the Kenilworth Spring Open 3 ball alliance. They secured a 3 shot win over their nearest rivals with an excellant net 66 on the back 9 topped off with Liz and Nicky both finishing with 2s on the 18th. Their overall score (2 out of 3 to count) off 3/4 handicap was 137.

Congratulations to the twenty ladies who achieved Birdies on the Tantara Course during the Winter playing months in very mixed weathers.  The Birdie prize for this year went to Kully Wain with a total of 14 birdies, closely followed by Helen Dellow in 2nd Place and 3rd Place Nicky Woodhouse with 7 birdies.  The presentation of the Birdie gift took part at the Ladies Inaugural dinner on Tuesday 13th April.  Well done Kully!!!

 A total of 21 ladies took part in the Winter Eclectic on the Avon PAR 3 Course.  Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the ladies who braved all sorts of weathers to get play and get their cards submitted.

The formidable pairing of Helen Dellow and Kully Wain played the Daily Mail Foursomes took on ladies pair away at Rugby Golf Club and won their match taking them through to the next round.

Well done ladies!!!  Good luck in the next round!!!

On Thursday 15th April three of our Stoneleigh Ladies; Ann Jones (Lady Captain), Joan Collingbourne and Florence Wild played in the Whitefields Open, a Three ball better ball Stableford with the best 2 scores to count, claimed Third place with a score of 83 points.  Well done ladies!!!

Congratulations on your 80th Birthday Jean!!!

A total of 36 ladies took part in the 9 hole stableford competiton on Thursday 18th March, in order to celebrate the 80th Birthday of Jean Whidborne.  Ann Jones, our lady vice captain at the time of the event, organised the competition which was kept secret from Jean until the very last moment.  Everyone had a wonderful day, the golf was followed by sandwiches and drinks with a birthday cake too.  Thank you Ann for organising such a lovely surprise for Jean and great day for the ladies who joined in.

The competition was won by Mary Foden, 2nd place by Chris Wilkes, 3rd place by Brenda Parry and 4th place by Kully Wain.

Well done ladies!!  Thank you to all who participated in making the day special for Jean.

Commiserations to the the Stoneleigh Deer Park Ladies Mail on Sunday team who were knocked out of this year's Classic competition. The match was played at home against Leamington & County Golf Club on Sunday 7th March.  The team captained by Nicky Woodhouse, Helen Dellow, Kully Wain, Sue Langford & Linda Edmondson, resulting in a 4/1 loss.

The Ladies 3 Ball Halloween Am-Am held on Thursday 29th October was very well supported and played very pleasant weather (considering this time last year ...we had snow!!)  The format played was best two scores to count, stableford.

Well done to the winning team who narrowly beat the runners-up by only 1 point!!!

The Ladies Better Ball Stableford Open was held at North Warwicks Golf Club on Monday 21st September.

Kully Wain & Sue Langford, both from Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club, playing off 3/4 handicap carded a score of 45 points, and were only just pipped into second place by 1 shot, the winning paring from Stratforfd Oaks Golf Club.  Congratulations to the winners from Startford Oaks Golf Club.

Well done Kully & Sue taking 2nd Place in the North Warwicks Ladies B/Ball Open.
