The Stoneleigh Mens Senior Open took place on Thursday 23rd August with a full field of play from 7.30am through to 3pm.
Congratulations to the winning pairing of Malcolm Porter and Phil Ebbage from Hinckley GC who carded 48 points just beating into 2nd place Bob Watts and John Spatcher from Forest Hill GC also with 48 points on back nine count back. In 3rd place with a score of 47 points was the pairing of Melvyn Kelly and Geoff Hind from Beeston Fields GC. 4th place was awarded to Roy Sturmey and Gordon Mathias both from Stoneleigh Deer Park GC with 46 points. In 5th place, aslo with 46 points and on count back was Neville Burton and Chris Price form Market Harborough GC. Brian Churchill of Stoneleigh Deer Park GC and R Webb from Northampton GC took 6th prize with a score of 45 points. On a countback of back 3, 7th place went to Tim Lee and Martin Rennolds with 45 points, both players from Stoneleigh Deer Park GC.
Nearest the Pin winners were: 9th hole - Peter Bates (Nuneaton GC), 11th - John Matthews (Stratford-upon-Avon GC), 13th hole - Tim Lee (SDPGC) and 15th hole - Ivan Food (Kilworth Springs GC) and Longest Drive on 10th hole was won by Ron Edmondson (SDPGC)
Presentation of the prizes to the winners was carried out by Charles McTear, Seniors Vice Captain.
The raffle raised a grand total of £342.00 towards the Captains' Charity for 2012 - the STAR:LIGHT Children's Foundation. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously.
