Our captains’ chosen charity for this year is Cancer Research UK. It is the world's leading charity dedicated to saving lives through research and is the only charity fighting over 200 different types of cancer. Cancer Research UK pioneers life-saving research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer with a vision to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. As well as research, the charity also helps millions of people every year get the information they need to understand the disease as well as campaigning on key issues to ensure that cancer remains at the top of the political agenda. Cancer Research UK is funded entirely by the generous donations of the general public and has more than 40,000 volunteers whose common goal is to reduce the number of deaths caused by cancer. Please support us and help us to achieve our target of £10,000 this year for such a worthwhile cause.

There will be numerous fund raising events in both the golfing and social calendars throughout the year, from the Captains' Drive-In held on Saturday 6th April 2013 to the Captains' Putt out scheduled for Saturday March 29th 2014.

 CHEQUE HANDOVER

The Captains for 2013 handed over the cheque to the Cancer Research UK Charity at the president’s Dinner.  A total of £6155.00 was raised throughout the year.  A big thank you to everyone who supported the Captains and their Charity for 2013.
