On Saturday 2nd April the annual Captains v Vice Captains Challenge took place, with the Captain’s team lead by Graham Murdoch and the Vice Captain’s team lead by Mark Woolerton. There were 13 pairs in each team playing better ball stableford taking on the annual challenge.
Congratulations to the winners of the Challenge for 2016 with just 15 points in it, Vice Captain Mark Woolerton’s team won with a total score of 494 points against the Captain’s Graham Murdoch’s team score of 479 points.
After countback on 40 points, the pair who were awarded 1st prize for the Captain’s team were Tom Joyce and Guy Sullivan with their back nine of 22 points and Runners up were Keith James and Joe Gallagher with back nine score of 18 points.
1st prize for the Vice Captain’s team went to Paul Darcy and Karl Adams with their score of 42 points. Neville Gardner and Lee Callender took Runner’s up prize with their score of 41 points.
This was followed by the 2015 Captain’s, Graham Murdoch, Sheila Rennolds and James Moriarty who completed their season by ‘Putting Out’ on the 9th hole, followed by the incoming Captain’s: Mark Woolerton, Shirley Proctor, Mick Lloyd and Joe Parham who traditionally ‘Drove Off’ the 1st tee wearing fancy dress to commence their year of Captaincy, their chosen Charity for 2016 is MS (Multiple Sclerosis)
