STONELEIGH DEER PARK GOLF CLUB
JUNIOR SECTION
The Junior Section is, of its nature, ever changing and, although we have said Goodbye to some of the juniors who are now over 18 years and moving up to the next stage, we have this year had an influx of new and talented youngsters.
The little ones on the Par 3 (Fawns) have a great eagerness to continually improve and those Juniors now on the Main Course are inspiring with their skills and tumbling Handicaps.
Regular Coaching Sessions with Matt McGuire continue on alternate Sunday mornings and are well attended. It is pleasing also that this year we have 5 Girls in the Junior Section.
Stoneleigh Juniors are very much to the fore and grabbing the Media headlines! Specifically, the Junior Captain Johnny Reay taking 3rd place after 36 Holes at ‘The British Disabled Golf Open’ in Liphook, Hampshire! Luke Challis winning the First ‘Woburn Junior Open Championship’ against an 88-strong field, which included players 7 years older, as well as members of the England Youth Squad! Josh Davenport playing for England in America and Will Smith putting in a great performance as part of the victorious ‘Mail on Sunday Golf Classic’ Team, in Spain. Also 4 of our new Juniors - Ben Charley - Tom Charley -Josh Davenport - Emily Burns joining Luke Challis in being accepted on The Warwickshire County Golf Partnership Coaching Scheme. Look out for them in the future!!
Very Well Done! To all our Juniors and Fawns.
