On Saturday 2^nd April the annual Captains v Vice Captains Challenge took place, with the Captain’s team lead by Graham Murdoch and the Vice Captain’s team lead by Mark Woolerton. There were 13 pairs in each team playing better ball stableford taking on the annual challenge.

Congratulations to the winners of the Challenge for 2016 with just 15 points in it, Vice Captain Mark Woolerton’s team won with a total score of 494 points against the Captain’s Graham Murdoch’s team score of 479 points.

After countback on 40 points, the pair who were awarded 1^st prize for the Captain’s team were Tom Joyce and Guy Sullivan with their back nine of 22 points and Runners up were Keith James and Joe Gallagher with back nine score of 18 points.

1^st prize for the Vice Captain’s team went to  Paul Darcy and Karl Adams with their score of 42 points.  Neville Gardner and Lee Callender took Runner’s up prize with their score of 41 points.

This was followed by the 2015 Captain’s, Graham Murdoch, Sheila Rennolds and James Moriarty who completed their season by ‘Putting Out’ on the 9^th hole, followed by the incoming Captain’s:  Mark Woolerton, Shirley Proctor, Mick Lloyd and Joe Parham who traditionally ‘Drove Off’ the 1^st tee wearing fancy dress to commence their year of Captaincy, their chosen Charity for 2016 is MS (Multiple Sclerosis)

Total of 44 entries took part in this years Easter Scramble last weekend.

Congratulations to the winning team of: Kevin Ariss, Helen Dellow, Ross Stanton & Martin Brock with their tremendous score of 57.9

Runners up were: Graham Murdoch, Pete Bilic, Lee Callender & Dave Dougill with 59.4

In 3rd place was the Price family: Dave and his twin sons Chris & Alan with their score of 59.6

The Individual Winter Stableford 2015-16 was played over 11 weekends throughout the winter season, with a total of 94 players taking part.  The top 45 players have qualified to play in the Finals Stableford weekend on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th March 2016. Qualification was based on top 5 scores to count for each player.

Congratulations to Mark Woolerton the 2015-16 Winter League Winner with his five best combined scores totalling 239.  Runner-up was Neville Gardner with his best 5 scores totalling 235.  After count back, 3rd place was awarded to Carl Stanford and 4th prize to Ross Stanton, both with 233. George Lynch took 5th prize with 230 and 6th prize was won by Dave Crossley with 226.

WINTER STABLEFORD (5/6 March)

Neville Gardner was awarded 1^st place in Division 1 with 42 points.  In 2^nd place was Mark Woolerton with 41 points and 3^rd place was won by Mark Jones with 36 points

George Lynch won Division 2 with his score of 42 points.  2^nd place was awarded to Tony Griffin with 38 points and in 3^rd place was Keith Riley with his score of 35 points.

Nicky Woodhouse won the Ladies prize with 22 points.
